Will Vinovest automatically sell my whiskey when it’s at peak value? What if I want to sell my cask before then?

When your cask reaches maturity, we will work with our global network of buyers to sell it on your behalf.

If you would like to sell your cask prior to its maturity date you can list your cask for sale on the marketplace. Other customers will now have the opportunity to purchase your cask from your portfolio. 

It’s important to note that whiskey is a long-term, illiquid asset: its value typically grows over time, and it is best suited for investors with a multi-year horizon. Our team will always recommend a hold time depending on the cask, which will typically be at least four years, if not longer. Selling your cask prematurely, before it has realized its full value, may result in the rate of appreciation not covering costs and expenses, such as Vinovest transaction fees and third-party costs to sell the wine or spirit.
