What is the Vinovest Marketplace? How do I get started?

The Vinovest Marketplace is a live online marketplace where users can buy and sell investment-grade wine and whiskey directly. Here, buyers place bids, sellers set asks, and transactions occur automatically when prices align—all with the assurance that every bottle, case and cask is authenticated and insured.

A trading account on the Vinovest Marketplace empowers you to actively trade, and it’s a distinct account and setup from your primary portfolio, where our team of experts handles every aspect of building and rebalancing a long-term, diversified fine wine and whiskey collection on your behalf. You do not need a managed portfolio with Vinovest to open a trading account, or vice versa. 

There are two ways to get started on the Vinovest Marketplace:

1. Place a bid on a wine listed for sale on the marketplace. The bid must be the same price or higher than the lowest listed asking price.
2. Place a buy order. You can place the buy order on a wine not currently listed for sale. Additionally, if you believe a price is too high in the marketplace, you can place a buy order at the price of your choice. It will be up to a seller to determine if they want to meet your buy order.
