# If Autopay is active, will it deduct funds from my cash balance?

Autopay will first attempt to charge the payment method you have on file for the total amount of fees due, including any outstanding fees and late fees. If the payment method on file fails, only then will Autopay deduct the necessary funds from your cash balance to cover the fees. This ensures that your primary payment method is used first, with your cash balance serving as a backup.
