# How are gains from my wines taxed?

Your taxable gains from wine investments depend on your location.

In the United States, gains from buying or selling wine through Vinovest are subject to collectibles taxes. In the United Kingdom, fine wine is considered a wasting asset, meaning you likely won’t owe capital gains tax.
